Quality of life From Austin Street to Court Street to Washington Place, numerous large developments are either coming or proposed for Newtonville. I will continue to be a voice for existing residents and businesses to minimize negative impacts and maximize benefits.
Financial stability Newton has a AAA rating from Moody's, but the rating agency noted that we face challenges of "slim fund balance levels" and "high liabilities for pension and OPEB". I voted against the budget in 2015 to raise awareness of this billion dollar plus problem and will continue to advocate for a plan to address this looming issue.
Greening up the city Mayor Setti Warren has taken many steps to green up our city. I believe there is much more we can do to lower our City's carbon footprint: installing more solar arrays; clean energy purchasing contracts; adding more electric vehicle charging stations; and more.
Commuter rail upgrade I will continue to be a persistent advocate with our state officials regarding an urgently needed upgrade to the Newtonville MBTA Commuter Rail Stop which is in deplorable condition and not accessible for those with disabilities.
